Be aware that stopping distances in wet conditions can be more than double that of a normal dry day.

Keep a look out for hazards on the road and anticipate the dangers that could happen. Anything that could effect your speed or direction, check your mirrors and be prepared.

With large amounts of water on the road oncoming vehicles may alter their position and may steer to the centre of the road. Be prepared – check mirrors and slow down if necessary. Large puddles on your side of the road could pull you over to the left hand side. If unavoidable, drive slowly through surface water. Find out more information here.
